RipTiger is a simple yet powerful online-video downloader and converter. This program is capable of downloading practically any online-video you can watch on your screen, keeping its original resolution and quality. Thanks to RipTiger, you can save local copies of your favorite online-videos from such famous websites as YouTube, Hulu, Metacafe, Dailimotion, Vimeo, and others.
The program implements three video ripping technologies designed to capture the videos even from websites that are especially difficult for this task. "Automatic downloading" is also a very interesting feature offered by RipTiger. It allows the program to detect any online-video while you browse and download it automatically for you. Of course, you can also disable this feature and copy/paste URLs of your favorite videos to download them manually. The tool was designed to avoid many common problems that may arise when you try to download online videos, such as wrong file names, commercial video downloads instead of the real files, and duplicate downloads. RipTiger supports all popular media streaming formats as well.
But this program would be incomplete if it did not include at least some basic video conversion capabilities. In the program's settings window you can select the output profile among the nearly 40 options available, including AVI, MP4, WMV, MPG, MOV, MKV, and MP3 (for audio extraction). Unfortunately, RipTiger does not allow you to customize any parameter in your selected output profile, such as the video resolution, the frame rate, or the codec. You can configure the program to convert your video files automatically as soon as downloaded.
RipTiger is available in Full and Ultimate editions, with a tag price of $29.99 and $34.99, respectively. There is also a $9.99 monthly subscription fee to the Ultimate edition of the program. Besides, when you install RipTiger, it tries to install "Soundtaxi Media Suite" also, a third-party tool that seems not to be really necessary for RipTiger to work correctly.
In conclusion, I would recommend giving RipTiger a try to anybody who needs or simply likes to keep local copies of his/her favorite online videos from virtually any specialized website.
